As part of Health and Well-being week, we explored some yoga moves. We worked together. The children would like to try some more yoga in gym time. It was fun!

As part of Health and Well-being Week, we made fruit rockets to enjoy. We used our numeracy skills to share out the grapes, oranges and strawberries. We talked about the importance of healthy food choices and the importance of cleanliness when preparing and eating food. We used our creativity and communication meta skills. The fruit was delicious!
As part of our learning in our ‘Water’ topic, we planted sunflowers. We worked together, shared resources and now we’re monitoring the growth and taking turns watering the plants. We also practised our functional writing skills and wrote instructions on how to plant a sunflower. We used our collaboration, communication and creative meta skills.
As part of our learning on times tables, we played ‘Find the Factor’ games using playing cards. We used our cooperative and critical thinking meta skills.
We took the opportunity to speak about water freezing from a liquid to a solid and enjoyed a cool treat on such a beautiful afternoon.
As part of our S.T.E.M. leadership activities, we conducted an experiment to test if oil and water mix. We discovered that they don’t mix due to the molecular structure of water and oil being different. In our first attempt, bicarbonate of soda was not the right kind of activator so we repeated the experiment using alka-seltzer as the activator and it was great to see the reactions developing inside our own lava lamps! We used our collaboration, communication and creativity skills. We’re going to share our learning with other children in the school during Fun Friday time and conducting the experiment with them.
