Both P7 classes came together today to hold a debate about one of the main characters in our novel Kensuke’s Kingdom. Pupils had to justify their opinions, for and against Kensuke leaving a desert island he has lived on for over 40 years. They displayed fantastic listening skills and showed great respect to our presiding officer who lead the debate. At the end we held a vote. The majority of P7 voted in favour of Kensuke leaving the island.

PE Update – Hockey
This term, we are focusing on invasion games, with hockey and basketball forming the main areas of learning. We began with a week of skills development to build the core attributes required for success in both sports. These included cooperation, dodging, weaving, attacking, defending, communication, and decision-making.
We then moved on to hockey. Throughout this block, pupils have been building their confidence in controlling the ball, passing accurately, and dribbling effectively. They have had regular opportunities to practise and refine these skills before applying them in fun, competitive games. As the unit progresses, pupils will continue to develop their teamwork, spatial awareness, and tactical understanding of the game.
