Primary 2/3’s Sunflower Experiment

This term Primary 2/3’s topic was Growth.  We have learned about the things plants need to grow, and what conditions suit specific plants best.

As a class, we designed and experiment to determine whether plants would grow without sunlight, water, air or soil.  We wrote a hypothesis and checked on our plants every day to spot any changes.

Once the plants began to grow, we checked our hypothesis to see if our predictions were right.

Term 1 – P2/3 Number

Primary 2/3 have been doing a fantastic job working on their numbers to 100! We have been using a variety of games, tasks and resources to order numbers to 100 correctly. We have been filling in missing gaps and developing our understanding of ‘before’, ‘after’ and ‘in between’. We have also been identifying patterns within our 100 square and have been learning to count forwards and backwards in 10s – using this skill to help us count.
