P4 – 7 are continuing their growing project. We sowed carrot seeds today – lets hope they grow!
We reused old seed trays and repurposed cartons to sow our carrot seeds in. We are trying to reduce, reuse and recycle!
We are looking forward to when the carrot plants are big enough to be transplanted outside.

P4 – 7 have spent the last few weeks getting our raised beds ready for planting. The beds have been weeded, fed, filled up and are finally ready.
P4-7 did a great job working together to plant their tatties. We are looking forward to seeing them grow!

As part of our Burn Trail Project P4-7 have begun thinking about the engineering and design problems we need to solve. We used those problem solving skills today by taking on two challenges:
P4 – 7 took on the challenge and did really well! They worked together in pairs to come up with design solutions. They were able to learn and adapt their designs and make them taller / longer / stronger. Great work P4-7!

As part of our Sustainability Topic P4 – 7 have been learning about soil – it is really amazing! Soil is one of the Earth’s most precious resources.Â
Did you know?
Soils are home to a quarter of the Earth’s species
95% of Earth’s food production relies on soil.
1g of soil has up to 10 billion organisms in it!
We did experiments to find out about the characteristics of different soils – it was very messy but very good fun!

Creating a Battery.
Last Thursday the P4-7 class made their own batteries out of 1p’s, vinegar, cardboard and tin foil. There was a strong smell of vinegar in the air.
