Our pupils had a wonderful experience aboard the Swan sailing boat in Lerwick, made even more special as it is the Swan’s 126th birthday this year.

The Primary class worked brilliantly together, learning how to haul the sails and getting a real taste of teamwork at sea.

The Secondary group took part in an exciting overnight sailing trip. They left Mid Yell Pier at 1 pm, sailed around Fetlar, and anchored overnight at Tresta, Fetlar. The next day, they returned safely to Mid Yell Pier at 1 pm.

It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to learn new nautical skills, build confidence, and enjoy time together on the water. There was lots of fun, teamwork, and adventure along the way.

A lovely experience for all, and a wonderful way to celebrate the Swan’s 126th birthday!
