The whole school have been practising for our Christmas play. It’s called Christmas with the Krackers! The performance is in the Hamnavoe Hall on Monday 16th December at 6pm. Friends and family are most welcome.
P1/2 have been working hard this week – learning songs for the Christmas Show, looking at Road Safety on these dark nights, trying to spot the sun as part of our weather observations and learning how to count in different ways.
We have used playdough to depict activities we can do during the day and the night. We have talked about how the days seem to be shorter and the nights seem to be much longer than they were. Several P1s think they are now being woken up too early!
P1 have built towers of sevens and eight to show that they understand what their numerals mean. They have also made playdough people using the numbers as body shapes. P2 have been learning how to count on from any number and say how many tens each number has and playing a few games to practise their knowledge.
P34 have been working hard at their topic finding out more about materials and forces. They love active spelling!
P56 and P67 have been conducting experiments on Sounds. They have been sound proofing and making loud halers.
