P34 have also been doing some STEM learning. We had a design challenge to create a structure to take a marble from the table to the floor. First we used only the marble run and then we added the extra challenge of using another building material for the marble to go through first. They showed brilliant team work and creative skills.

P34 have been learning about compass directions and computer coding. We played ‘Programmer and Robot’ and directed our partners where to go using directional language instructions.

P67 went on a walk today to discover all the sounds they could find in Hamnavoe. This activity was inspired by the poem The Sound Collector. Students created their own versions of the poem using the sounds they found.

They also took part in a healthy eating assembly. This helped them figure out which healthy breakfast choices they enjoyed

P4/5 have been developing their sense of place within Scotland. We have looked at and located some key cities and features within Scotland. We have now started looking at key features within the UK.

P4/5 also attended the healthy breakfast visit. We learned why breakfast was important and got the opportunity to sample the different options for a healthy start to the day.
