P1-2

We have begun to learn about all the different people who help us: bus drivers, vets, teachers, the Police and the Coastguard. It’s been really interesting to find out what some people do in their jobs.

P2 have been writing short sentences about Burra and have been regularly hitting their writing targets. P1 have been revising the first six phonemes and learning c,k and e. They have also been writing all the sounds they know on the iPad too.

In Maths P1 have almost perfected how to write the numbers 4 & 5 and have been finding four of everything. They have also played the Ants in your Pants game. P2 have been investigating every possible way to make all the numbers up to 10 & discovering lots of patterns.

It’s been a busy week , but next week we are designing our Christmas Cards.

We loved archery!

P34

We have done brilliant writing achieving our target and getting our reward.  We loved trying fruits from around the world and using ICT to find all the different countries on Google Maps.  The apples came from New Zealand all the way to Tesco in Lerwick!  We used proper knives and were very responsible.  We’ve been working on our Time and place value.

P67

We also achieved our target for writing!  We had an amazing trip on the Swan on Tuesday.  We had lots of fun working in Teams to create a marshmallow tower.  It was so sticky!  We are learning about Fair Trade and what support they provide to producers across the world.

P56

We had a 100 club which is when everyone achieved their best writing.  We made chocolate crispies.  Now we are starting on a new target.  We have worked hard on subtraction this week and been really active in our learning.
