Week 3 Jigsaw Crazy!

Carole Smith our local Police Constable delivered an assembly on Anti Social behaviour to our senior pupils.  At this time of year when we consider conflict and peace the theme of ensuring a peaceful community was very fitting.

Four pupils picked up star badges for writing, kindness, topic work and maths.

Some of p3/4 have gone jigsaw crazy this week and been making as many as they can.

They have made an ‘Array City’ as we learn about repeated addition/multiplication.

Maths games and free choice on laptops.
Science – making the water cycle in a bag!
They have also been learning about Remembrance Day and done some lovely writing and drawing local memorials 😊.

More to follow.

P5/6 have been learning all about Diwali this week in preparation for the festival this Sunday. Today we worked on some decorations for our classroom.

P12 have been working on the story of a Penguin in drawing club & working out the adventures he could have. We have also looked at different types of materials and what they could be used for. We all made a small model bridge between three schools just like linking Scalloway, Trondra and Burra. A small group managed to make an even bigger bridge that went all the way to Foula!

Don’t forget our Children in Need ramble on the 17th – everyone welcome.  Leave school at 1345.
