P1/2 Week 5

We were delighted to meet Posie’s new baby sister earlier in the week!

Drawing Club this week was based on ‘Fox’s Socks’. P2 have begun adding sentences to their drawings. Ask your child if they can remember any of this weeks vocabulary. Everyone enjoyed looking back through their drawing club book!

P1 have been doing lots of counting and learning about numbers to 10 or 20. They have now been taught the sounds ‘s,a,t,i,p’. They enjoyed a racing game in the multi court to find the sounds.

P2 have been working on sentence writing this week. They quickly picked up the routine of getting resources so they are ready to write.

Again, lots of creative and outdoor play. We read ‘The Bug Collector’ which inspired a bug sanctuary and pond in the block play area and junk bug huts to be made.

Next week, Mrs Jamieson will be teaching P1/2 on Monday and Tuesday.

This week in p3/4 we’ve done maths game in pairs, laptop activities, written work and a big maths challenge 😊 We’ve  also been brainstorming things about themselves and writing acrostic poems with their names.

This week P5/6 have been doing research on the Gloup Fishing Disaster. We found some really interesting facts and some students have sparked the inspiration to write about it and complete their own research. We found some lovely books from Shetland library that we are so excited to investigate.
