Week 10 – snow days and more!

It’s been a short week with 2 snow days and an early closure.  While pupils were at home there was plenty creativity going on.  Thanks for the selection of photos.  There were was also plenty sledging going on too!

Back at school all classes have been busy with the Talk4writing project.  P56 have been creating their very own versions of the Gruffalo and  P67 have been innovating the Billy Goats Gruff.  Traditional tales are used a stimulus for developing creative writing skills.

P1-2 have been having lots of fun with their sounds and creating their own Macdonalds.  They have also continued to develop their understanding of weight.

P3-4 have been practising note taking and working hard at their numeracy.

P56 are in training for their sponsored marathon.  They will be doing a collective marathon which means about 2 miles each!  They are raising money for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Following an appeal to local businesses they have currently raised £900.  What an amazing total so far!  Sponsor sheets are circulating in the community of you wish to make a contribution.

We had a number of Wider Achievements this week for fund raising for CHAS, drama and for drumming in the Shetland Youth Orchestra.  Great to hear about these achievements.

Well done to our star badge winners.
