Hamnavoe, Aith, St Cuthberts in Glasgow and Ntutti in Kenya have been working together on a growing project. All schools undertook to grow their own food and learn about the best ways to go about this within their own school setting. Operation Turriefield (sustainable growing project in Sandness, Shetland) provided advice and met digitally with all the schools in Scotland. Ntutti kept in touch via Whatsapp and shared their amazing produce. Growing your own food for the school is a priority for Kenya schools. At the end of the Term all schools met on Teams and shared their growing story. They have all learned more about sustainability and further developed their digital literacy skills. Pupils at Hamnavoe also used Glow Mail to email their Glowmail pals in Glasgow, sharing and comparing their lives. This has enhanced the learning experience for everyone. Our next project is called Zero Hunger.
