This term the children are learning about the 5 senses and this week they have been focusing on touch.  There has been lots of discussion about how things feel and the children have been using some great descriptive words “slippery, spiky, smooth, gooey, wet”.  They have been making some slime, textured pictures and some experiments where they have tried to guess what they can feel.

The children have enjoyed having the blocks out in the nursery  and have been constructing some really great buildings, learning how the shapes go together and making new shapes by putting different blocks together.

The mud tray has been well played with as well.  Lots of mud pies, mark making and making shapes with the loose parts.

This week in P.E.  we got the balance beams out for the children.  They really enjoyed walking along all the beams and jumping off onto the big mat.  It was lovely to see the children’s confidence increasing each time they did the course.

On Thursday the children all asked to go up into the garden.  The big muddy puddle was a huge hit and they all had great fun making huge muddy splashes and collecting more water to make the puddle even bigger!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to lots more fun next week.
