We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

For Children in Need today we thought about helping others and being kind.  We watched videos of different people’s lives and stories about how the Children in Need appeal had helped them.  We talked about people we knew who benefitted from the support of Children in Need and those we didn’t know or lived further away from us. We talked about the things we could do every day to help support each other and also what we could do on days like today to helper a wider circle of people.

Later, we played some Pudsey games. Indie told us she was going to visit Pudsey at the library in town and some children thought that sounded exciting so we decided to go on a bear hunt at Nursery too!……

……..we had to look high and low, far away and close up.  We looked under things, over things and inside things to find them all…..

Everyone had fun finding a bear and looked after them for the rest of the day at Nursery.

STAY AND PLAY DAY!

What a fantastic day we had yesterday with our parents, grandparents, siblings and friends at this term’s Stay and Play Day.

Everyone had such fun making helmets, shields and torches for SMUHA.  We even made an amazing galley for Nursery, with the help and skills of everyone.

Don’t let the marbles get away!

We were so lucky to have parents on hand to build our Galley.

And the sail is up!

Painting with marbles was great fun.

It was great that older siblings were able to come and join us too!

Lottie-Mae secured the tail of the Galley with Mrs Colvin.
Alec helped to make the sail for the Galley.

Huge thank you to everyone who came to join in our learning and making it such a fun day!

Using our Senses

We have been looking at our senses this week and focusing on Listening and Tasting.

Yesterday we did a texture taste test to decide what different foods felt like. First we tasted them and then put them in different categories. We learnt lots of new describing words; crunchy, gooey, squidgy, slimy, rough, smooth and more.

Today we looked at our tongues and which part of our tongues taste our food (taste buds) and decide whether its sour, bitter, sweet or salty. We tried lemons, limes, oranges, syrup, salt, pretzels and mint leaves. (we did pull some funny faces too)
