We were delighted to hear that Alec has made into into the National Finals of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists’ (RCSLT) VoiceBox competition! He is heading off to the Scottish Parliament on the 5th of June to tell his joke alongside the other regional winners. Good luck Alec!

Archie Foundation Book Competition Winner
Pupils who were in P4/5/6 last year, took part in a competition run by The Archie Foundation. They were asked to illustrate a page for a book called, ‘Archie and Amanda’s Amazing Adventures,’ by author Alec Franks. The story is about a little girl in hospital and it is hoped it will be relatable to young patients at The Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
We were delighted to learn that Leah Sandiland’s (P6) picture has been selected for the book and is currently at the printers! There were hundreds of entries so huge congratulations to Leah!
All pupil entries will be displayed in Union Square, Aberdeen, over the weekend of 8th and 9th October, with Dunrossness entries being displayed on the 9th. The author will be doing live readings and copies of the book can be bought at the event. We hope to be sent a copy for us to see in school.
Well done to all the pupils who took part. Any one of you could have been a winner!
Road Safety Week Winners 2021
The JRSOs found it very hard to judge the ambulances in our recent road safety competition because they were all very good. The winners all got a reflective sticker.
The winners this year are Leva P1, Elsie P2, Dylan P3, Kirsty P4, Jessica P5, Conor P6 and Roma P7.
We will display all of the Superheroes that were returned to the JRSOs very soon. Thank you all for entering our competition!
