Healthy Breakfast

We were delighted to have our breakfast last Friday morning. The bairns got weetabix, toast and a selection of fruit. It was enjoyed by all.

Term 3 PE

Our January to March term in PE was very busy.  P1/2 did 4 weeks of dance, 2 weeks of handball and 6 weeks of swimming.

Dance

In our dance block, pupils explored how to use movement to express ideas. We focused on:

  • Using imagination and responding to different stimuli
  • Travelling, stillness, shapes, jumps and gestures
  • Changing rhythm, speed, level and direction
  • Repeating patterns in movement
  • Showing expression and confidence

The children had great fun experimenting with creative movement and performing short sequences.

Handball

In handball, we concentrated on building ball control and throwing and catching skills.

Swimming

In the pool the pupils worked on developing their water confidence and front and back crawl.  The class enjoyed the block, working hard and showing good improvements in all their water skills.

Gemma (Jordan’s mam) visits from Specsavers

We were delighted to welcome Gemma to the class on Tuesday afternoon to tell us about her job as an optician and share some interesting facts and some of the cool things that happens when we go for eye tests. The bairns (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks for coming!

Parent Readers

We were delighted to have Naomi and Moira along this week for some reading opportunities in the child initiated play times. Thanks for spending time with us – the bairns loved it!

Robots and Countries

The bairns have really got stuck into their play projects this year. We have had the Eiffel Tower built from straws to robots with wood, nuts and bolts! A creative bunch!

More Parent Readers…

We were delighted to welcome Hannah’s Dad, Andrew for a morning of reading. The bairns went in small groups to the reading neuk and heard a variety of stories. Thanks to Andrew for coming along.

SMUHA

Wir bairns did so well with their song for the jarl on SMUHA day. I was told (by the bus driver!) that they sang the song the whole day!
We started SMUHA day with the Nursery procession and burning. Then we had the SMUHA visit the school before the Primary procession and burning! A fun day was had by all!

Dogs Against Drugs

We were delighted to welcome Megan and Bravo on Friday morning. The bairns really enjoyed the visit but the favourite part was meeting Bravo… and trying on the handcuffs!
