We were very lucky to have a delicious denner prepared by Joanne, Val and Donna! Thank you for all your hard work!
Gingerbread Men
Our very talented Louise created this great photo opportunity! We had it set out for our Big Play and bairns from across all classes wanted to have a photo… or two!
Christmas Jumper Day
We had our Christmas jumper day on our Christmas lunch day! The bairns asked to wear a santa hat… so they did!
Big Play
We had an afternoon where we got to have a Big Play with the whole school. The bairns loved exploring the different classes and joining in with a variety of different games and activities as well as mixing with the different age groups. A great afternoon enjoyed by all.
Microbits with Primary 6/7
We were very lucky to have the P6/7 bairns in with us to show us all about Mircobits. They showed us how to program pictures, writing, music and even sending messages to each other in different rooms. We had a great time – thank you to Mrs Adamson and all the P6/7 bairns!
Christmas Concert
The primary 1/2 bairns did BRILLIANT with their Christmas concert. The sheep and angels put on a great performance and everyone did us so proud! A great performance from beginning to end!
Big Question – Vibrations
This week, our Big Question is about vibrations and sound waves. We used a tuning fork to look at the vibrations in water, causing a bit of a splash. We then played a game where we used big vibrations and small vibrations for a “hiding game!” Then we looked at vibrations using rice… a lot of fun was had by all!
Play Projects – Things we care about
We have had a lovely start to the week, talking and drawing things we care about! Top of the list was family, closely followed by pets and friends and then of course… Santa (amongst a large list of other things!)
Big Question
This week we have been looking at things we believe in. It has opened up lovely discussions within the class… some a little deeper than others! 🙂 Everything from Santa to Loch Ness Monster… God to Big Foot and my favourite… “my family!”
STEM – Kapla/Engineering
We welcomed Eleanor Hutcheon back for our final STEM session and it was all about being engineers. Eleanor set six problems that the groups had to work together to solve. Lots of skills were seen throughout the session including communication, problem solving, creativity, maths skills, team work, leadership and many, many more. What a super morning.
