Music Term 3

This term in the Music Class, Primary 1 and 2 have been learning songs about the sea and have also been listening to pieces of orchestral music which are inspired by the sea. The pupils have been learning to identify the different instruments in the orchestra and have also shared ‘what the music makes them think of’ when listening to music. They have also being doing musical activities such as ‘Meeting the Musicians’, learning a couple of songs with sign language signs and practicing how to make a ‘musical storm’ in preparation for watching the Royal Scottish Orchestra on-line concert called ‘Tara the Tugboat’.

Well Done boys and girls!

Family Tree

We have been looking at our families and all the special people we are lucky to have in our lives. We went on to create family trees and it was lovely hearing the bairns speaking about the different things they do with parents, grandparents, cousins, etc.
We even did a little digging to see if we were distantly related to each other. I have 16 “cousins” in the class… a lovely, unexpected find!

Community Bags

We were asked by the local kirk if we would help brighten up the bags that they deliver food parcels in… and the bairns did not disappoint! They took great care in their work and I am sure it will make people smile when they receive their parcels.

Outside Classroom

We had a lovely afternoon outside. Mrs Bannister set up the outdoor classroom and we loved it! Here is hoping for some more of this dry, calm weather!

SMUHA Burning

Today ended with a peerie procession of wir own! Was just so lovely having the school altogether. Three cheers to Trevor on his amazing galley!

Early Years SMUHA

We were delighted to watch the Early Years bairns and staff do their procession this morning. We think they all looked brilliant and were impressed with the singing and the burning of the galley! Three cheers for Cunningsburgh Early Years!
