Big Question

Imagine you’re in a magical land called Scotland where farmers grow delicious foods! Some farmers plant seeds in the ground to grow golden fields of wheat for yummy bread. Others take care of fluffy cows and get fresh milk to make tasty cheese! Can you guess what other kinds of food these special farmers might have in their land?

Mrs Bannister had the bairns baking their own bread today… and it was delicious. The bairns really enjoyed helping make bread and seeing how it was made. A massive thank you to Mrs Bannister for doing this with the bairns!

Titanic

We have loved the Titanic theme for the play projects this week and the bairns were very creative, but at school and home!!

Polycrub

We have started visiting the Polycrub this week and what a treat! The bairns got stuck right in with a mixture of digging, planting and watering the seeds. Each bairn will get to go for a visit over the next couple of weeks.

Term 4: Big Question

Have you ever heard of a brave explorer named Christopher Columbus, who sailed across the big ocean and discovered new lands? Or how about a kind woman named Rosa Parks, who refused to give up her seat on the bus and helped make things fair for everyone? Can you think of other amazing people from long ago and the cool things they did?

Miss Baronet started our week with a super lesson on Neil Armstrong and Amelia Earhart and what an amazing conversation the bairns had! We learnt lots of new things and enjoyed the interactive activities. We then looked at Rosa Parks and did a small activity where Miss Hunter was only going to take the bairns with blue eyes on a holiday… that didn’t go down very well! A super (mature) discussion was had and the importance of what Rosa Parks did. A really enjoyable big question this week! And thanks to all the parents who got involved with sending in brilliant books – we loved looking at them!

Term 4: Play Project – Senses

This week our play project theme was senses and the bairns didn’t disappoint. We had some junk modelling experiments, we had drawings on the board, some fancy glasses, pictures, fact sheets and we even had experiments at home as well as incredible PowerPoints from home! Well done Primary 1/2!
