During science week we had to do a new challenge every day and on Thursday the 13th of March we made and designed bath fizzies (bath bombs).
We came into the class at the start of the day and we had to put on gloves, aprons and goggles that Michael, Hermione’s dad, gave us.
Then we started making them. It was really fun. It was challenging too because if you put in too much liquid in with the chemicals it would start to fizz and it would react to the different chemicals and the bath bomb wouldn’t work as well. The ingredients were sodium hydrogen carbonate, citric acid, corn flour, water, food colouring, and fragrance oils. There were three groups, we all had to make up names and Logo’s so in the end Stephanie, Lewis and Loui-bo’s group was called Da Peerie Shetland Bath Bombs. Erin, Nicol and my group was called love and Emma, Hermione and Jason’s group was called the Homemade Beautiful Panda Perfumes.
After that we packaged them we all did something different, the Love group did red packaging and made it into a bag then tied it with ribbon and threaded through our labels, The homemade beautiful bath bombs did dark blue rapping and stuck there labels on top of the packaging, and Da Peerie Shetland bath bombs did clear rapping and stuck there label on top, like the beautiful panda perfumes.
After we had finished putting the bath bombs in the moulds we had to wait for 24 hours before we could package our bath bombs, and after we had rapped and decorated our bath bombs we made boxes for the bath bombs to go in. To start Mr Hewitt drew a net on the board and we had to copy what he had drawn. Next we cut out the net and stick them together. After that we decorated our boxes and put the bath bombs in the boxes. We took them home and our parents had to test and mark them out of ten in different areas our parents had to mark the , fizziness , presentation and scent. Overall it was very fun and I enjoyed it very much so did the rest of the class. The votes will be added up and the winning team will get an Easter egg each.
