Tuesday 11th November

On Tuesday 11th November we did African drumming with Joy Duncan. Me, Sofia, Hannah, Emer, Honor, Melissa, Abby, and Rosie danced at the end. Some parents were early to pick up people so they joined us. We had to tell them what were doing. I hope we do it again sometime.

Post Card to Each Other

On Thursday, with Miss Colclough, we did postcards to each other. Nobody wrote to me but I wrote to Sofia. I said about when I went to Honor’s house and had a sleepover. It was on the tricle treeting night. We were eating sweeties that we got from the different houses. We eventually eat all of the sweeties. I got to sleep but Honor was still plaing on her iPod. We woke up the next day and we played a game outside because it was a lovely day. We played the hole day until I had to go home.

Learning How to Wash our Hands

Yesterday  we learned to wash  our hands properly. If you don’t wash your hands the  bad germs can make you ill. If  you have been   coughing or sneezing you should wash your hands because if you put your fingers in your mouth they will transfer to your body or if you  touch your food with dirty hands then eat it the germs will transfer into your stomach. Emer, Mia,Melissa and Kerry did a song which they taught me. It tells you how to wash your hands. We also thought about reasons how to defend ourselves eating fruit because it gives you vitamins. When you are going to sneeze or cough you should get a tissue and throw the tissue in the bin or sneeze or cough into your hands and then wash them.

Scottish Book Trust Authors Live

On Thursday we had an authors live with Jon Klassen. He was very funny and so were his books. He said he liked hats that’s why two of his books are called ”I want my hat back” and ” This is not my hat”. His books are very funny to. I like his style of drawing to. His style of drawing is very simple there just basic shapes that look amazing, I don’t know how he does it. He wrote a book called ”Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, and he also illustrated a book called ”The Dark”. All of his illustrations are by computers and by a bit of software called photo shop.  Jon Klassen is an brilliant author and an amazing illustrator. This is the link to the Walkers books website.

Rock Pools

On Monday  22rd of  September Karen  came to the School and talked about rock pools. The first thing she talked  about was the tides.  Karen did a demonstration about the tides. The moon was the pickle onion, the sun was the orange, the blue rope was the tide and the earth was a fake cookie. She showed us seaweed and we got to touched it. Then she put the fish tank on the table and filled it with water. Karen took out a rock with seaweed and she took a blob it was called sea annename. A sea annename sting by the tentikal. Then she took out crabs there was one crab was small then Bradley’s thumb.

We went outside to the Burravoe pier to do rock pools. I found seaweed but the interesting thing about seaweed is you can age them by the bumpy bits and dog welks. Mia found  a crab and I hold it. I learned that you tell if a crab is female or a male.

Pirates

We are doing a Pirate Project with Andy Ross and it is all leading up to a concert. Every Wednesday we do warm ups before we start. We have a big story bored and it tells us what we are doing when we are doing it. We drew pictures of pirates with feelings like she is moody and we decorated them with materials and we also painted them and they looked good. Some of the bigger ones made a big map that showed the island that we were on and it had a X on it and that means treasure. We all have costumes to wear when we are doing practices so we look a bit like pirates. I hope that lots of people come and I also hope that my mum and dad come to see but I really hope that it all goes well.
