4 days at Lerwick

On Friday me and my family decided to go to Lerwick campsite for 4 days because Dad wanted to test out the camper van. It has a great swimming pool next it.We took the dog too, My family got to the Leisure Centre we paid for the campsite and we got a key to get in to the toilet block  and washing block. At 6 o’clock me and  mum took my dog out for a little walk because he had been tied up all day.  Me, mum and my dog  took a walk on a little small path near to the camp site.

On Saturday me and my family went in to the town. We had to take the dog because he started barking. The town has lots of shops. When we were coming in to Lerwick we saw a sign that said there was going to be a life boat at the harbour . We went to have a look at the harbour it had music, food and antiques. Dad bought me and my sister a sausage batch. When we had finished looking about we went in to town. We went in to a CD shop, games shop and my favourite shop is the Shetland Book Shop. I bought a Rainbow Magic book called Fiona the Flute Fairy.

On Sunday Me  and Mum  went swimming at the leisure centre . In the afternoon me and my family walked around the coast. I played on Super Mario on the  ds when I got   back.

On Monday Mum went to a course so it only left me, Dad and my sister. After 2 hours a women knocked on the door of our camper van and said that an  HMS Coastguard helicopter would be landing any minute now. A lot of people were standing outside filming the helicopter and  Dad made sure that the dog was okay because the helicopter was really noisy. When Mum came back we went to Tescos and then We went home.

Tuesday in Edinburgh

On Tuesday in Edinburgh we went to the museum of flight. It has lots of hangars where you can see planes. The first plane we saw was Concorde. Concorde was the fastest passenger plane ever. It could travel faster than a bullet and when it flew over people looked up. Concorde could leave after break fast in London and arrive in New York before break fast. Next we went to an interactive games place where we got to play games. There was a flight simulator and a hand eye coordination thing when you press a button and a thing drops. I hit the target. We went through another hangar then went to the gift shop. After we went to Butterfly world and had packed lunch. We played at a play park then went into Butterfly world. We went into a school room and did the life cycle of a butterfly then went into a big hot room where butterflies could live. The butterflies flew around you and you could see the butterflies up close. we saw some caterpillars then went into a replile room to see snakes and lizards. The lizards didn’t move for ages. We went into the handling room. We handled a millipede, snake and a tarantula. There was a nocturnal room so we went in and saw some glow in the dark scorpions. We used ultra violet light to see the scorpions. We went to the gift shop then did the penny press. Luckely i had 50p and 1p so I did it and it has a picture of a butterfly. Next we went to Toby Carvery and had gammon and totties. I liked the gammon. Next we went bowling but first we went in an arcade. I blew most of my money then we went bowling. First we typed our names but it only had 5 spaces so my name was Brydo. Bowling was soooooooo fun. Near the end Mr. Martin came and said I had nearly won and just 4 points would win. I got 4 points. We got our shoes back and went to the hostel and it was Louises birthday so we sang happy birthday and had some cake and the cake was yummy. After cake we went to bed.

Eating Puffin Poo!

A parcel arrived for us.
Magnie the visiting whale was really excited when he
saw that it was from his friends
at Burravoe School!
When we opened the parcel we got some lovely surprises.
We found a book called ‘Bobby an da Burland Pearls’,
a keyring with a puffin on it,
a no-smoking sticker that says ‘No puffin’ ‘
and some very cool home-made postcards about
Burravoe School.
But the funniest thing we found was two bags of
PUFFIN POO!
Luckily we read the back of the bags and
found it was actually made of white chocolate, toasted ricies, marshmallows and coconut!
Mmmmmm, thank you Burravoe School, we really enjoyed the treats.
We had to use a lot of reading strategies when Mrs McKenzie read some of the book aloud to the class, as it is
written in dialect!
