Our Victorian Workshop in The Museum and our Walk

On 10/05/18 we drove to Lerwick on the bus. First we went to the museum to do our workshop. When we got there we looked round the museum at the Victorian section. Next we went to the museum’s learning room. They explained to us that this is going to be an Victorian classroom experience! When we went in we got pretend name labels, my pretend name was Ursula Jamieson. When we went inside he called out the register, when he said our pretend name we had to say “present sir”. next we got chalkboards and a piece of charcoal, we had to copy the words on the other chalkboard in the front. When we wrote it was very noisy. Next we got ink pens and ink and we had to write the alphabet on a piece of paper we also got quills. It was easier writing with the ink pen because with the quill there was a risk of blotting the paper. After the workshop we went back upstairs in the museum to have a closer look at the exhibits. Later we went on a walk from the lifeboat building to the Knab in Lerwick, we had to tell which houses were Victorian or older and which were new. I learnt that the lifeboat building was one of the Victorian houses.
