Polish Dishes

on Friday we were doing Polish cooking with Karolina. She came in and we made a main course and a pudding. The main course was mince, rice, onions, parsley, marjoram and pepper and it was in a cabbage shell. We had to boil the rice first and the cabbages (2). We then had to peel the onions and chop them and some of us cried! We had the little ones peeling and the older ones chopping. We put the mince in and after that we put in the herbs and we then mixed it together. We split the rice in half and then put it the mixture. When the cabbage was done we picked the leaves off and put a big spoon full of the mixture inside and wrapped it up and put it in the oven.

We made a pudding that was pastry with strawberries inside. We made the pastry by putting pasta flour in a bowl then getting boiling water and then we put butter in it and mixed it until the butter had melted then we put it in the bowl with the flour. We then needed it and made it quite wet and we then rolled it our and cut them into circles with cookie cutters. We next put half a strawberry inside and wrapped the strawberry in the pastry.

When the meal was ready Karolina worked with it and served it. It tasted very different to the food we have here!
