We were at the Shetland Schools’ Music Festival Gala Concert on Thursday the 20th of March. We  were performing because we were the only group in our section who got a gold plus. We caught the 5:30 ferry on the way to the concert. We went on Sonia’s bus. Everyone was so excited. We had to wear our school jumpers and black shoes and breeks again. The adjudicator left us some really nice notes from the Tuesday and then decided to invite us to perform in the Gala concert. On the bus we got bread sticks and digestives. We then got to Mareel and we were getting all of our instruments out of the bus and put them in a big room where they kept all of the instruments. We went to the balcony to watch the  performance until our turn, then we went to get our instruments all ready then we went up to the bit where you wait for the people before you are done, then we went up on the stage. We played Minnie ‘o Shirvas Cradle Sang. We did exactly the the same as on Tuesday. Charlotte went up on the stage first, then it was Bradley and me, Then the keyboard people in at the back, then the xylophone people then the percussionists last. We all played  on our instruments twice then we all sang the first 2 verses with Charlotte playing the piano, then it was Phoebe and Leah on the xylophone, Kerry and Melissa on the keyboards and me on the fiddle for one round and then everyone played one verse. Then Everyone sang and nobody played for verse 3. Then it was Honor on the keyboard playing the bass guitar part, Bradley playing the bass guitar, Emer, Neil, Rosie and Sonia were playing percussion instruments and me on the fiddle playing it once through and then everyone joined in. Then everyone sang the last 2 verses and Charlotte and I played along to them singing. To finish off with then we all played 2 verses. It was fun! We then went back up to the balcony to watch the rest of the concert.
