Energy recovery plant

On Tuesday we went on a school trip to the Energy Recovery Plant. First we went in the meeting room where we saw a power point about how the plant works. Wee Burnie, a character in the power point, helped us understand what happens in the Energy Recovery Plant. Then all of the school put on hard helmets and glasses, then they went up to the control room and saw the claw they thought it was fun looking in the pit at pillows and Oreo packets that people thrown away. Then we went down stairs and saw an enormous blue tank, we all lined up to see the furnace. When you duck down you can really see the colours in the fire. We all went back on the bus up a hill and we all saw the land fill it was full of rubbish. Then we went down a bit, to the recycling centre, one of the children put a bag in the clothes place and a man helped. Then all of the school went to the District Heating Station we all got torches.

I learned that pipes go around Lerwick and heat up buildings.

I learned that the Plant has a bratz clock.
