It is very windy here we get calm very occasionally. We sometimes get gales and we get power cuts occasionally also when we have gales our planes can’t fly and our ferries can’t go so if you go to Tescos or the Co op they aren’t much food on the shelves. Our hottest temperatures are between 19 °C and 17° C. Its so cold in winter some of us wear 3 or 4 pairs of socks. In the middle of winter its dark all day but in the summer its light all day, it is very hard to sleep in the middle of the summer because its light all the time. I’m guessing its different to your homes?

Dear Kerry,
I like how you wrote about the the weather. In America in summer it gets dark around at 9:30. It’s not that that windy here. Happy Blogging! 🙂
Sincerely,

We have a lot of rain in the south Wales valleys because the mountains catch the clouds! In summer can get quite hot and it is dark at around 10:00pm. Our towns were built during the industrial revolution and are all old mining villages or towns. Most of the houses are terraced houses built for the miners. The deep coal mines are all closed now because there is no longer the demand for coal. Today There are a lot of factories in our town making medical equipment or electrical components.
What jobs are there in Shetland?
