Getting Ready for the Yell Show

The Yell Show is  where we put things like art, pets and gardening things.  We entered our vegetables in to the Yell Show, We have potatoes, carrots, beetroot, peas and  leeks. We dug up the tatties in pairs, Leah dug up the  tatties with Me, We dug up Forty fold tatties they were a light purple colour when they came out of the tattie bag. I also pulled up leeks . The leeks where tough  to pull out of the gardening bed. Next we went  inside and we measured them and then wrote them down on a sheet of paper, Then we tried to match up what looked like the best four tatties they had to be the same size. Next we wrote labels saying the name of the school and what category the tatties were in. Then we got our photos taken with the vegetables in front of us. Next we bagged the vegetables in  plastic bags being careful that they wouldn’t fall of the plate that we put them on, Then we gave Miss Breyley the plants to take in her car to the Yell Show which is in East Yell.

What sort of show do you have near you?

  1. Thank you sooo much for relpying!
I love Wales! It has a great place to go!
    From Charlotte

  2. We would really like a show like this in our town, it looks great fun. We have an annual ‘Eisteddfod’ normally held on March the first. In the Eisteddfod we have competitions such as welsh folk dancing, poetry reciting, choral singing, art and poetry writing. It is really exciting and if your school is good enough they will reach the national Eisteddfod which is broadcast live on S4C television each year.
