Support for Teaching Music

Music is an integral part of learning for young people in schools across Scotland.

Where budget allows, schools across South Ayrshire can elect to engage one of our Primary Music Specialist Team as part of their staffing compliment.

To support schools who do not have the budget to engage a music specialist, we have developed a bank of resources to support primary class teachers in their delivery of music education.

Curriculum for Excellence:
Expressive Arts: Music – Experiences and Outcomes
Through music, learners have rich opportunities to be creative and to experience inspiration and enjoyment.  Activities enable young people to develop their vocal and instrumental skills, explore sounds and musical concepts, and use their imagination and skills to create musical ideas and compositions.
