20 May 2021If children and young people have symptoms: cough, temperature, loss of taste and smell or other non-specific symptoms such as cold like symptoms, upset stomach / vomiting or fatigue then it is important to ask them to isolate and book a PCR test. Please err on the side of caution and do not presume it is ‘just a cold’.

17 February – Following the First Minister’s announcement, we are delighted to announce that as of Monday 22 February the Centre will re-open to all children.  We would ask that parents maintain the 2 metre rule and wear a mask to and from the Centre.

22 January – Following the First Minister’s announcement the closure of early years centres, schools and out of school care services will still be closed. At present, this will be reviewed Tuesday 16 February.

8 January – Following the First Minister’s announcement on Monday 5th of January, schools, early years centres and out of school care services will only be open for staff, children of key workers and vulnerable children only. At present this will be until Monday 1st of February.

For children who attend the Centre in an Ante or Preschool place, our staff are currently working to provide remote learning which will be in place from Monday 11th January. We would encourage parent/carers to access websites such as; Parent Zone, Education Scotland and Cbeebies.

We appreciate that this is once again a difficult time for everyone. Should anyone require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Centre or the South Ayrshire Community Support, please see below for further details:

‘If you or anyone in your household is self-isolating due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and has received a positive test, or has been identified as a close contact of someone who has, you can contact South Ayrshire Council if you require further support to stay at home and isolate, this includes financial support. November 2020 – Update – Can we please give you all a reminder to keep 2metres apart at all times, but especially at dropping off and picking up times. May we also ask that all adults wear a face covering at these times and that only one adult should enter the Centre grounds to drop off or collect each child. Please use the gate next to our car park to enter the grounds and leave via the gate behind Chestnut Cottage, maintaining a one-way system. We will have the car park gates closed at busy times to ensure the safety of everyone walking into the Centre. Please do not park across the entrance, since this is how any emergency vehicles would get access.

Children & Covid Symptoms – Should your child arrive at the Centre coughing, we will ask that you take them home. We will always err on the side of caution. As you can appreciate, we not only have a duty of care for other  children but to our staff as well.

Should your child have a temperature, and or cough please do not send them to the Centre, even if you think it is only a cold. Seek advice from NHS 24.

If your child does get tested for Covid, and the result is negative we will require a copy of the result to be emailed to the Centre: Cherrytree.mail@south-ayrshire gov.uk

Monday 14 September – Can we please ask if any parent/carer is coming into the Foyer for care plan reviews that a mask in worn in line with guidelines. Thank you

Covid Guidelines – Can we please remind parent/carers of the protocol to follow if your child is unwell.  If they have a new cough or a temperature, we would ask that you contact NHS 111 to seek advice.  They will advise whether your child requires a test or to self isolate for 14 days.  Can you please advise the Centre of the outcome.  If your child is to be tested and it is a negative result, the Centre will need confirmation of this result before your child can come back.

Tuesday 18 August – Drop off and pick up times – May we please remind you to stick to your allocated timeslots. This is to ensure that everyone is able to social distance and keep safe, please observe the safe distance signs along the fence. We are trying to maintain a one- way system at the busy drop off times, so you should enter via the gate at the car park and leave via the gate near to the school. Please don’t use this gate to come into the Centre. Thank you.
