Mobile testing unit:  Girvan 

A Mobile COVID-19 Testing Unit for people who are symptomatic will be situated at the Quay Zone site, Knockcushan Street, in Girvan on Tuesday 12 January and Wednesday 13 January, between 10.00am and 4.00pm both days. This temporary facility will allow those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to get a free swab test.   Tests must be booked in advance at: https://www.nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect or by calling 0800 028 2816. The booking portal for the Girvan site will open from 6.00pm on Saturday 9 January.  Residents coming to be tested will be required to follow public health measures.  People should only book a test if they have coronavirus symptoms.  Those who have any of these symptoms must self-isolate immediately, and only leave home to take a test. They should continue to self-isolate until they receive their result.  Residents will be asked to confirm their identity on arrival at the test site.  Further sites across South Ayrshire are currently being considered as additional mobile testing locations, updates on these will be provided in due course.
