Ballantrae’s Virtual Sports Day!

Hello everyone!

Next week – 8th June until the 12th June we are holding a Virtual Sports Day! Each day you will have up to 5 sports tasks to complete to gain Sports Points and Bonus Challenges! All details are on the Sports Day Bingo sheet!Virtual Sports Day

How to play:

Once you complete a physical activity tick it off.
Can you complete the activities in the red squares for 10 extra bonus points?
If you are finding some of the activities hard, change them or have a rest and then continue.
When performing the activities make sure that you are honest.
Photos and videos of you taking part would be much appreciated.
Use the record sheet to record your activities and scores.
Have fun and get active!
Submit results by Monday 15^th June 2020 to Mrs Gregg at sa12greggs@glow.sch.uk

Today Emma and James were playing a maths game outside in the sunshine! Very easy to do, all you need is chalk or even a stone to write your numbers. We were working on addition, subtraction and times tables questions! James was good at finding his numbers to ten!

Big Booky Breakfast

To celebrate World Book Day pupils, staff, parents and the wider community shared a fantastic Big Booky Breakfast. Thank you to Mrs Drummond, Mrs Ball and Miss McCathie for running the kitchen and keeping us fed well. We would also like to thank Natalie, Eilidh, Liz and Rebecca for serving all the pupils and visitors. Pupils are spending the day looking at books sharing their thoughts and ideas and their favourite stories.

Lighthouse Keeper Visits Ballantrae Primary School

Today Primary 4/5 had a visit from Mr Henderson, a former lighthouse keeper. The children have been learning about lighthouses through IDL this term and enjoyed learning more facts about the exciting life of a Lighthouse Keeper.

Today Aaron came into school to talk to us about the dangers associated with Drugs and Alcohol. We even tried the beer goggles on.

Awesome Club

Evelyn, Charlotte and Erin have planned and organised ‘Awesome Club’ which runs on a Monday lunchtime for primary 1-5. The girls have been very organised and the pupils have really enjoyed themselves.

Hand Washing Presentation

Today Primary 1-5 had a visit from some student nurses. The nurses gave us a presentation on the importance of washing hands. We used an ultraviolet light to check if we had washed our hands correctly. We also used glitter to see how we transfer germs from one person to another.
