Over the weeks the boys and girls have been practising their keyboard and mouse skills at Computer Club. They can successfully login, type their name and use the drawing tools. They used the Big Brown Bear website to learn where all the letters on the keyboard are. Here is the link so they can play the game at home:
Primary 5 made use of the lovely weather today by taking their learning outside. The class were practising rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. Everyone had a great time and worked really hard!
Another busy week at Wallace Primary and Nursery! World Book Day, Fair Trade Fortnight and our visit from author Stuart Reid.
World Book Day was a great success across the school and nursery. Thanks to everyone who dressed up and special thanks to parents who came in to #Shareastory with our pupils.
Thanks to everyone involved in making Fair Trade fortnight a success, especially Miss Docherty and her Fair Trade Committee. It was great to see so many parents and families attending and engaging with the life of the school.
I missed some of the fun last week as I attended a Head Teachers Leadership Academy with Columba 1400 for 3 days and nights. It was great to work with inspiring leaders from across the country, it was a challenging week, working early morning until late at night. I learned a lot and developed partnerships with other schools which will allow us to collaborate, share good practice and support our on-going school improvement. I am committed to my own continued professional development and using my learning to reflect and to make a positive difference at Wallace.
P3 were given the challenge to find out as much as we could about Fair Trade bananas. We have also been searching our cupboards for Fair Trade items and looking closely at packaging to see where food comes from. We met Pablo the Super Banana who taught us about how bananas are harvested and what Fair Trade means for banana farmers.
