Primary 3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Opera last week! We visited Paisley Town Hall to watch the Scottish Opera performance of ‘The Opera Factory’. In preparation for our trip we learned about the different roles in an Opera production such as costume,  lighting and set design,  conductor, orchestra and director. We also had a visit from Trevor Gray, Education Officer,  to talk to us about instruments in the orchestra and he played his Flugelhorn for us! We learned a song called ‘If You Go to a Show That’s an Opera’ which we sang at the performance. The show was fantastic and we were so impressed by the orchestra and singers!

Today was another busy day for P5. In the morning we had a game of P5 v P5A rounders, to warm us up for the day.

We also had the opportunity to learn some British Sign Language. We were able to learn how to sign the alphabet as well as some simple phrases. This was great fun, we are so greatful to have had the opportunity to learn and it is something we will keep practicing.

In the afternoon we had the opportunity to enhance our archery skills. We learned how to properly handle the bow and arrow as well as having target practice and playing some games.

We are really excited for our last day of health week tomorrow, to open Tropical Tastes, our fantastic smoothie bar.

Thank you so much to Willie Chrystal for teaching Primary 3 about First Aid! We showed off our knowledge about the Emergency Services and what to do in the event of an emergency situation. We learned how to deal with bleeding cuts! We know how to apply pressure and bandage them properly. We also learned about the recovery position! Look at us in action!

Primary 3 had so much fun playing tennis with Derek Brown from Strathgryffe Tennis Club on Monday. We developed our tennis stance, our underarm throw and hitting the ball to a partner. We also loved the ‘hot chocolate’ balancing game!
