One of our fantastic P3 pupils won a competition to design and label a bug as part of the Braehead Big Bug competition. As part of the prize, the whole class was invited to Braehead Shopping Centre to visit the Big Bug models and learn about the different bugs that were featured. Our prize winner also won a Braehead gift voucher and will eventually have his bug made into a real life model! We can’t wait to see it!
Primary 3 have been learning about persuasive language through our shared text ‘The Day The Crayons Quit’. We did some ‘hot seating’ with one person pretending to be a crayon and one person being Duncan. Duncan had to persuade the crayon to come back and tell them how he would change. We also looked through other stories and wrote down any persuasive language that we found.
Wallace Cooking Classroom saw the addition of a fridge and sink. These will support the implementation of cooking activities. Thank you very much to the Parent Council for their fund raising efforts as money donated to the school was used to supplement the purchase of these items. Succeeding Together.
Primary 2 have been learning to logon to the laptops and develop their keyboard skills. The learning and skills development was supported by the Digital Leaders. The Digital Leaders displayed themselves as Effective Contributors and Successful Learners! (Learning Together. Succeeding Together.)
Next week Primary 4 will be learning about Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. As part of our homework, each child will be given the name of a Pharaoh to research. This information will be used for a group challenge the following week.
Miss Harper’s Primary 5 pupils had a wonderful time making pizzas at Pizza Express last week. Thanks to Mrs Brooker for organising and to our parent helpers for coming along!
