Toys – now and then

Today we started our new topic. We wondered about how you find out about things in the past. Mrs Wilkie brought in her old scooter and Ms Crawford brought in an old soft toy donkey.

Next week, there will be homework coming out linked to the topic. Please keep an eye out for this. It involves preparing for a personal talk on ‘My Favourite Toy’. Information on how to support your child will come with the homework.

Thank-you in advance for your support with this.

Day 4…Judo!

Today we had a change of activity and instead of hockey we had a taster session of judo. So if our feet are dirty its because we had to take off our shoes and socks. All moves are strictly for at the judo gym!

Sports Day

We have been busy with sports day today and we are glad that the rain mostly stayed away! After all of our exercise and fresh air we might be ready for bed tonight.

Finally we had a quiet half hour back in class where we worked on our problem solving abilities with a choice of jigsaws!

Day 2 in Primary 2!

We have had another hectic day in Primary 2 ! As soon as the register and lunches were completed using our new online system, we were out onto the pitch with scooters and bikes. As usual there were a few spills but nothing too disastrous.

Then it was up to the dinner hall for food tasting…

Still busy, busy we started on a bit of bandaging…

And all before lunch…

Next, hopefully a quiet afternoon learning about our skeleton.

Health Week

We had a busy start to Health Week here in Primary 2.

By half past 9 we were outside for a session of touch rugby.

After playtime we moved on to Tae kwon do…

Rounding our day off with a trip to the boxing gym…

Christmas Party

Yesterday Primary 2 had their Christmas party. We thought you might like to see the pictures we took of a very special visitor!

We also finally completed our sailboats…we hope everyone’s boat arrived home safely!

We have had a busy few weeks working on the Nativity along with our usual maths zones and language work. We have also been learning about how some other countries celebrate Christmas – ask us about Sweden and Germany, we might even remember how to say ‘Happy Christmas’ in Swedish and German!

We are now all tired out and ready for the holidays!

Mrs Wilkie and Ms Crawford would like to thank-you for all of your support and also the kind gifts we have received this term and wish you all a ‘Happy Christmas’ – we might be too hopeful to wish you a quiet one!!!

Nativity Narrator Outfit

Primary 2 children should bring a Christmas themed outfit for the Nativity performances (eg Christmas jumper or t shirt with dark skirt/leggings/trousers), in a named carrier bag on Monday 10th December. The children will need  this for the Nativity dress rehearsal on Wednesday 12th December and the performances for parents on Friday 14th December.

Calling all performers…P2’s got talent!

Wallace Primary will be holding its traditional Talent Show on the afternoon of Friday 7th December. We would like to let the parents of budding Primary 2 performers know that we will be holding auditions on Tuesday 4th December. There will be a chance for each person wanting to perform at the Talent Show to show the P2 base their act and a vote will take place with 2 performers being chosen to go forward to perform in front of the school.

Anyone entering the competition MUST HAVE their own music preferably burned to/or on a cd and have any props ready for the auditions. We will not be practising their acts with them or sourcing any necessary tracks or props! They must also have these ready to perform on Tuesday 4th December as this is when our auditions are timetabled.

Good Luck! We can’t wait to see the performances!
