Primary 7 pupils excelled in developing their cooking skills. Over 5 weeks the P7 children prepared a range of dishes and developed a number of skills.
The club will be offered in Term 4 so more children can participate.
Primary 6 have used their cooking skills to lead learning. The children in P6 confidently directed and supported the nursery children to make a Fairtrade recipe! #HappyTogether.LearningTogether.SucceedingTogether.
After AstroTurf was laid down on Tuesday, staff and children have been busy setting up the nursery outdoor area. These natural resources will enhance the outdoor learning! Still more to come so watch this space… Happy Together. Learning Together. Succeeding Together.
Wallace staff demonstrated excellent skill in the cooking classroom. The staff worked in teams to create a variety of wonderful dishes from the same set of ingredients. Determination, creativity, team work, cooperation, research and numeracy skills were all on display but most importantly everyone had fun! The Eco Committee harvested carrots from the Wallace Garden and used these to make soup. They roasted peppers and cut onions to add with the carrots. The results were delicious.
Primary 5 participated in the Food for Thought Cook Along Live session. They enjoyed developing their cooking skills to work together to make a delicious dish. The children shredded, grated peeled and sliced a range of vegetables to make a sensational vegetable noodle pot.
Primary 1 – Primary 7 Eco Committee members spent the afternoon weeding and cutting back the class planters in the nature garden. The children took great pride in their work and left the planters ready for the Spring season. They were very excited to harvest a patch of carrots which they will use to make a soup dish this Friday. ‘Farm to Fork’ in action! Happy Together. Learning Together. Succeeding Together.
Wallace Cooking Classroom saw the addition of a fridge and sink. These will support the implementation of cooking activities. Thank you very much to the Parent Council for their fund raising efforts as money donated to the school was used to supplement the purchase of these items. Succeeding Together.
Primary 2 have been learning to logon to the laptops and develop their keyboard skills. The learning and skills development was supported by the Digital Leaders. The Digital Leaders displayed themselves as Effective Contributors and Successful Learners! (Learning Together. Succeeding Together.)
