P3/4 have been working on an new topic about Airports. On Monday 17th December, they visited Glasgow Airport. Loganair arranged a fun filled and exciting day which included a visit to check-in and a journey through security where the children had a chance to guess what was in the bag as it was x-rayed. They then went up to airfield ops. and watched aircraft take off and land.
Next, they got a thrill as they boarded a Loganair SAAB 2000 aircraft. On-board, they chatted to two pilots in the cockpit and were served biscuits and juice by the cabin crew.
The children had a wonderful time and would like to thank the airport staff for an enjoyable day.
Primary 4 and Primary 3/4 are organising a Bring and Buy Sale. Please look out any games, books and toys that you no longer use and hand them in to either class. On the day, children will be invited along to make their purchases.
Primary 3/4 took part in brilliant activities as part of ‘Maths Week’. We learned about time. We pretended to be the Earth, moon and Sun and talked about how long it took the moon orbit Earth and the Earth to orbit the Sun.
We revised days of the week and months of the year by playing maths games at P.E. We learned how long one minute is, estimated how many sit-ups, star jumps and dice rolls they could do in one minute. Then we tried it out to see how close we were.
Primary 3/4 are opening a leisure centre for a day in the gym hall on Wednesday 29th March. All classes will be timetabled to visit and activities will include: basketball, football, dancing, gymnastics, games and pretend swimming. There will also be a café serving water.
All activities and the café are free to take part in.
This year Fairtrade fortnight takes place from 27th February to 12th March. We have already held our coffee morning, many thanks to those of you who managed along.
The children have also decided to fundraise further. Guess the birthday of the Fairtrade Bear and raffle tickets for a Fairtrade chocolate explosion box will be available from Tuesday 21st February. Tickets will be priced at 50p for each and you can purchase as many as you would like. Many thanks for your continued support.
