Primary 1/2 decorated hard boiled eggs then rolled them down the hill on Holy Thursday. We had lots of Easter fun! Many thanks to our lovely parents for sending your child in with eggs. The smell was tremendous!

P1/2 Visit Dippy on tour
P1/2 visited Kelvingrove Museum to see Dippy the Dinosaur as part of our Dinosaur topic. We had great fun. We got to handle real fossils and fossilised dinosaur poo!!
P1/2 – Let’s go fly a kite
Primary 1/2 have been investigating forces as part of science. Bending, twisting and also push and pull. We made kites to demonstrate the forces of push and pull. We had great fun flying them on a nice Scottish windy day!!

P1/2 – Burns Celebration
Primary1/2 celebrated our National Bard Robert Burns. We tried some Scottish shortbread and performed some Scottish dancing. We also performed Auld Lang Syne to the whole school at a special assembly.
P1/2 – Letters from Penpals
Primary 1/2 were very excited to receive letters from their Canadian penpals! They are now going to be busy writing back to the children of Sacred Heart in Sarnia, Ontario.
P1 – Bedtime stories
Primary 1/2 came back to school last night for Bedtime stories! This session was to coincide with Scottish book week. The children loved their book bags and Read, Write & Count bags which were gifted to them. We had a lovely time enjoying stories, scavenger hunts, stories and snacks.
P1 & P1/2 – Library visit
Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 visited Glenburn Library to coincide with World book week. We heard three lovely stories and then we voted on our favourite story. The library ladies also gave us colouring pictures to match the stories we heard! We had a great time!
P1/2 – Over the Moon with their science lesson
Primary 1/2 have been learning about the Sun, Moon and Stars in science. Today we made phases of the moon planners. We also used jaffa cakes to highlight the different phases such as full moon, waxing gibbous and waning crescent! A very tasty science lesson!

P1, P1/2 and the Community Police
Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 enjoyed a visit from the Community Police as part of our People Who Help Us Topic. We learned lots about their role and we also enjoyed dressing up in Police uniforms!
P1 /2 Autumn Walk
25th September 2018
P1/2 have been on an autumn walk around the school grounds. We collected conkers and leaves of all different colours. Some of the conkers were still in their shells and we used our feet to break them open.
We had lots of fun!
P1/2 Science Experiment
Primary 1/2 have been learning about freezing and melting. We experimented with melting ice, frozen paint, and salt. We discovered heat, the sun and salt all can melt ice.
We know water can exist as solid ice and liquid water. We also learned the freezing point of water is zero degrees Celsius.
