Classroom Assistants who completed our programme of professional learning in session 2018/19 celebrate their achievements at Johnstone Town Hall

Over the past 3 years, we have been delighted to work in partnership with staff from the School of Education at the University of Strathclyde to deliver a comprehensive, high-quality programme of professional learning for Classroom Assistants.  In February 2020, we were able to extend this programme to Additional Support Needs Assistants via an in-service event which was positively evaluated.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are unable to continue to deliver our training with the University of Strathclyde at present but hope to resume this as soon as possible.  We know however that support staff across Renfrewshire are keen to continue with their own professional development.

The professional learning materials on this website have been collated in response to consultation with support staff across Renfrewshire.  We have also worked with teams across Children’s Services and our partner agencies to provide a wide range of learning activities.
