P2F had a great time exploring Stirling Castle!

Calling all Ospreys! For our House Art Day this year (Thursday 29th November) we will be creating our usual themed display which will be on show within the school. For our individual Christmas craft we are looking for resources. Please see below for items we would like you to bring in, if possible.
P1-3 – newspapers
P4-7 – cereal boxes
This will be a non-uniform day. Please remember that our activities may get messy so please do not wear your good clothes.
Homework
This week reading and spelling homework issued as normal. We continue to encourage the children to discuss the 3 sharing’s at home. For maths homework we would like the children to continue to work on counting backwards within 100.
Trip
Tomorrow is our trip to Stirling Castle. A reminder that if you did not order a lunch then the children should bring a packed lunch with them. It will be helpful to put their name on the bag. Children have to wear school uniform and sensible shoes for walking around in. We will be leaving sharp in the morning so I will open the doors 5 minutes early to allow the children to get to the toilet.
House Art Day
This will take place on Thursday. Please remember to send the children in clothes that you do not mind getting messy.
Enjoy the extra day off on Friday to celebrate St Andrew’s Day.
Good afternoon!
Here is our homework for the week ahead:
Reading
The children have been given out brand new reading books this week. They are due back on Thursday (due to the Friday holiday).
Maths
There is no formal maths homework this weekend to give you some time to work on your castle. These are due next Tuesday (4th December). Of course you can keep working on oral counting and Sumdog.
Spelling
Our sound this week is long vowel sounds. The spelling words we chose were:
Red Group: cake, rope, nose and five.
Blue Group: stone, bike, home and plate.
Our common words this week are:
their, if, will, up.
As always, please ask if you have any queries either through the homework diary or at the end of the day.
We are excited for our trip to Stirling Castle on Tuesday. Children are to wear school uniform and bring lunch to school in a bag they can carry (unless a lunch is being supplied by the school). Could parent helpers meet us at the office in the morning? We are leaving around 10 past 9.
Thanks
Miss Grant
The children have asked me to post a video we loved today about number bonds to 20.
Please see the link below to a post about house art day for the Ospreys.

Calling all infant Eagles!
Our end of term house art day is coming up and our focus is recycling. Therefore we kindly ask for any recycled kitchen roll tubes, buttons and material to help us create a Christmas masterpiece.
Many thanks!
P2F had a lovely afternoon exploring their read, write, count bags. It was great having you all in the classroom to share this with us.

Hello everyone!
Thank you for all of the generous offers to help with our trip to Stirling Castle. I have informed those who are coming to help us on Tuesday and will keep those in mind who offered to help for future trips, we were overwhelmed with your kindness.
Many thanks,
