P2B Nativity information & Woodland Walk

Good evening,

The children have been working hard in rehearsals and are excited to perform for you at next week’s nativity. We ask that P2B wear their white shirt, tie and a Christmas accessory (no flashing lights).

All children in P2B will have their nativity on Tuesday 12th.

Unfortunately, due to the current weather forecast, we have decided to postpone our woodland walk, but we hope to do it sometime next week instead.

P2R Christmas show information

The children have been practising their songs and instruments all week.  On the day of the Nativity show (Wednesday 13th Dec for most)  the children can come in to school in Christmassy clothes.  This could be smart party clothes, Christmas jumpers or just bright colourful clothes.  The children can wear Santa hats etc too if they like.  The children can wear these clothes for the rest of the day after the performance.  A letter detailing this will also be sent out tomorrow with the day of your child’s performance.  We look forward to performing for you.

Thank you

Mrs Fulton

P2R local community walk

Weather permitting this walk is still going ahead.  The children will leave school at 10:45 and return for lunch.  Please ensure your child has a waterproof jacket and wellies if possible.  If the weather is too bad, we will postpone until next week.  A decision will be made in the morning.

Thank you

Mrs Fulton

Week beginning 4th December

Good morning!

Homework

Spelling homework this week is look at y at the end of words  – as in holly, story, sorry, party.

Reading books continue. I won’t be making new wordwalls until next term. Please revise the walls your child has until then. All the children have been working really hard on their reading skills this term.

In maths this week, we are looking at rounding to the nearest 10.  This is quite tricky but we had a really good go! Here is a video we watched in class to help explain rounding to the nearest ten.  I’ve also attached an image of a 100 square to help them further.

News

We are really looking forward to our community woodland walk on Friday (weather permitting!) P2B are just looking for one more adult helper to come along, so if you can make it please write a note in the diary or a note in your child’s hand in the morning.

Nativity rehearsals are well underway and we are very excited to perform for you next Tuesday. Tickets will be given out to the children this week. A letter will also be sent out giving more details about the day (what to wear, etc.).

Thank you for your support during these busy Christmas weeks!

P2R wk beg 04.12.17

Good evening.  Sorry about the post delay.  Glow was having technical issues this past weekend!!

Homework

Spelling homework this week is look at y at the end of words  – as in holly, story, sorry, party.

Reading books continue.

Maths this week will be looking at rounding to the nearest 10.  This is quite tricky.  I have put in a helper grid 100 square to help with this weeks task.

Wordwalls were checked last Thursday.  From now until the Christmas holidays we will revise the wordwalls we have completed to ensure retention.

News

We are looking forward to our community walk on Friday.  Weather permitting we will be looking at our green areas, road safety in our community and local amenities.

We continue to practise our Nativity songs and we have started giving out instruments to play.  A letter will go out this week with more details including what to wear etc.

Thank you as always for all of your support.

Wk beg 4th December

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Please see below for homework and class news.

Homework:

Home work will be issued on Tuesday this week. It will consist of:

Spelling. Our sound this week is ‘y’ at the end as in holly and berry. You did a wonderful job today coming up with words and I look forward to seeing some more!

Maths: today in Maths we learned how to round to the nearest 10 by using our knowledge of skip counting. There will be a sheet to accompany this.

Reading: Reading books will be issued this week. If your child has not received a reading book today then they will receive one tomorrow. This is due to the completion of running records.

Other News:

It is December already! We have been practising our nativity songs and have also taken part in house art day. We are looking forward to our woodland community walk on Friday – thank you to those who have volunteered to help!

Thanks you for your continued support.
