Home Castle Challenge

In class we are learning all about Scottish Castles in the past. We would like you to create a Castle at home. It should have a moving part, e.g. a drawbridge or a flag pole. You can use any material you wish. We would like to see the following features in your castle:

  • Moat
  • Drawbridge
  • Battlements
  • Portcullis
  • Arrow Slits
  • Towers.

Your castle should be brought into class to show on Tuesday 4th December. We look forward to seeing what you have created. Have fun!

P2F science

Hello everyone,

P2F have been busy learning all about castles. The children were interested in learning about the moat of a castle and how substances dissolve in the water. Firstly the children carried out a science experiment looking at different materials learning about solid and liquids. The children then predicted if the materials were soluble or insoluble before putting it to test in water.

The children had great fun!

“I enjoyed looking at the different materials and predicting if they were soluble or insoluble.” – Hamish

“I liked putting the materials in the water and seeing if they would dissolve.” – Lewis W

Newspapers and magazines

Good morning,

I hope you’re all very well and have had a lovely weekend. We have been learning all about nouns in class and on Friday we will be creating our very own noun collages. These will help us to spot the difference between different types of nouns as well as to remind us what a noun is.

If you have any newspapers, comics or magazines in the house that you are finished with, could you please send them in to school with your child by Friday?

Thank you so much for your support with this,

Miss Cauley
