At the coming Burns Assembly (w/b 4th Feb) one child from each class will be chosen to read a Scots poem. Your child has been issued with four Scots poems. They should choose one to learn and read out to the class for w/b 28th January. Can you please circle the poem your child has chosen to allow us to note what poem each child is reading. Thanks.

Magic e ~ o sound changes to the long vowel sound of ‘oa’.
Spelling –
1. Words to be written out twice, neatly. Add at least 2 of your own words using the same rule.
2. One sentence, using words from that week’s list.

Our Spelling Test and Dictation will be on a Friday morning. Results can be seen in the back of your child’s homework jotter.

This term, all primary two classes will work on an engineering project. Children will collaborate in small groups to build a moving vehicle.
If you have any shoeboxes at home (lids must be able to be removed from the box), we would be happy to take them off your hands. We are also on the lookout for any old/unused CDs, DVDs or records.
If you would like to donate any of the above items, please send them into school with your child.

The children have taken home a book to read for enjoyment from the library. They are ready to discuss whether the book is fiction or non-fiction and to see if they can find any words with their spelling rule for this week.

Today we had a very special visitor to our class! Santa took time out of his very busy schedule to come and visit us. We really enjoyed the visit and he told us a few funny stories! Thanks Santa!
We had a fantastic time at our Christmas party this afternoon. We showed off some fantastic moves and played some party games. Everyone looked fantastic. I hope you all had a great time!
