World Book Day

We had such a good day today for World Book Day! We shared our favourite books and learned what Miss Grant’s favourite book was. We also did a Book Quiz and were very competitive! P6M came down to watch David Walliams read an extract from his book Gangsta Granny which had us all in stitches. We then shared our favourite books with them.

Thank you so much to all the children and their families and friends for sponsoring the reading challenge. We have raised a lot of money for literacy resources for the school which will benefit everyone.

Thanks again

Miss Grant

P2K Read and Munch

Hello everyone,

Further to our homework post this week I would like to add that Read and Munch will be on Thursday this week (with P3W as normal) to allow us to swap to new reading buddies. However it will also take place on Friday with P6A for World Book Day.

Many thanks,

Mrs Kane.

Homework w/b 4/3/19

Good Morning everyone!

Thank you so much for your generosity last week for Fairtrade. We really enjoyed the experience and had great fun baking our Fairtrade goodies.

Here is our homework for the week ahead:

Reading

The children have been issued with their new reading book. The children have already been spotting ‘ow’ (as in crow) words in their reading books.

Maths

The children have issued with a subtraction worksheet to complete. They can use the hundred square at the front of their diaries to help them. They know to ‘jump’ back to subtract.

Spelling

Our sound this week is ‘ow ’. The spelling words we chose were:

Red Group: bow, show, throw, blow.

Blue Group: window, pillow, shadow, tomorrow.

Our common words this week are:

now, find, its and down.

Tommy the Tree Frog has been given out to a child today and is due back on Wednesday if possible. When he is given out on Wednesday he is due back on a Friday.

We are celebrating world book day on Friday. This will be a non-uniform day and I have asked the children to bring in their favourite book from home in order to tell us about it. They were issued with sponsorship forms a short while ago for the Reading Challenge if they are taking part.

Thanks

Miss Grant

Fairtrade

Thank you for the delicious fairtrade baking which so many of you brought to school today.

Our visitors from Erskine Care Home and The Lunch Club enjoyed the treats very much.

We still have Chocolate Crispies left, and so on Monday you will be able to enjoy one at snack time.  Please let Miss Hunter know if you would rather your child not have one.

Many Thanks.
