We hope everyone is well.

It is Science week in school and we have lots of exciting learning to look forward to in class.

Maths homework

For Maths homework this week we thought it would be fun if you joined in with the Renfrewshire Sumdog contest. Good luck everyone!

Spelling rule

Our spelling rule for this week is ‘ew’.

Our words are:

  1. few
  2. chew
  3. new
  4. stew

Our common words are:

  1. down
  2. made
  3. may
  4. part

Write these words another twice in your homework jotter. Write at least one sentence using one or more of these words.

Remember to look over your common words, these are  important to know to help develop your reading skills.

Renfrewshire Sumdog Contest

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that the Renfrewshire Sumdog Contest is still running and will finish this Thursday.  Every pupil will have their username and password to play the games at home and they will be given time in class to play too.

You can answer a maximum number of 1000 questions set at your own level to help your class climb the leader board. Have fun while learning!

  • Capital letter at beginning of each sentence.

  • Punctuation, full stop at the end of a sentence.
  • Using nouns and adjectives to expand our sentence.

We would love to see the children challenge themselves by growing the words. For example, snow – snowing, snowed

Hello everyone,

We hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for the new school week ahead.

Our spelling rule this week is:
“y”

These spelling words have to be written a further two times in your homework jotter.

Challenge yourself to choose two words  and put them into  sentences.

Explore the world around you to find other words that use the “igh” spelling rule. We would love to hear these words in class or write them in your homework jotter or create a spelling poster.

All homework should be returned by Friday for your teacher to mark.

Maths

The maths homework grid should be attached to your homework assignment on TEAMS. Remember to only complete one activity a week, this can be repeated throughout the week as many times as you would like.

Reading 

If possible you could discuss the content of the book. You could use the three sharings. For example: what you liked or disliked about the book, connections to the content of the book. Is there any questions you have about the book?
