NVR (Non – Violent Resistance) Parent/Carer Groups

NVR Renfrewshire

What is it? Eight-week group programme for parents/carers living with distressing school age child behaviour

NVR groups are led by skilled practitioners with psychology training and experience in the area of extreme and distressing child behaviours.

Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) is an international program developed by leading therapists and designed to work where young people are highly resistant to change.  Although NVR was initially designed for parents living with child violence and aggression. The NVR approach has also shown to be effective with a range of anxiety related behaviours such as school refusal, self-harm and social withdrawal.

NVR groups often have a ‘parent graduate’ on staff and we can guarantee a compassionate and understanding approach to the challenges you may be facing.

Parents who have completed NVR programmes have reported better relationships and increased confidence in supporting their child’s emotions and behaviour.
