Leaf Club (Learning About Forests) meets weekly and is a sub committee of the Eco Committee. Leaf is part of a pilot scheme being run by Keep Scotland Beautiful and the theme the children have chosen for this session is ‘Forest Creativity and Innovation’. Their action plan consists of one main aim which is to ”Encourage children to access and enjoy the Outdoor Space”. The children plan to achieve this by completing three actions.
- Write a collaborative poem which they will share at assembly highlighting the wonders of the outdoors.
- Create an outdoor area with interesting plants and flowers. – This is being achieved through participation in the Pocket Garden Competition.
- Create an art exhibition using natural materials.
The children are sharing their experiences through photography which is being displayed in the school hall for everyone to see.
