Homework

Homework varies as pupils move through the school. In August teachers will send information home to explain homework and give details of when it is due to be handed in and any other important information. Homework will usually involve some spelling work, maths work and sometimes research or topic work related to the class social subjects topic.  Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding homework.

Homework can help children to:

  •  Acquire effective habits of self-discipline and time management.
  •  Develop initiative and learn to work independently.
  • Gain a sense of personal responsibility for learning.
  •  Develop research skills, such as locating, organizing, and condensing information.
  • Consolidate learning
  • share learning with their parents/carers.
