We have achieved our 4th Eco Schools Scotland Green Flag Award – July 2025
A Green Flag means our school is helping to look after the planet!
We work together to save energy, reduce waste, and make our school a better place for everyone.
We have an active Eco Committee with pupils from every class in the school. In recent years, we have learned about recycling and have started growing and harvesting our own vegetables, including carrots, beetroot, radishes and potatoes within the school grounds. Through these experiences, pupils have learned about sustainability, recycling and caring for the environment. We also work closely with Renfrewshire Council to organise an annual whole-school Big Spring Clean in the school grounds and the local area.
This year, other pupil committees have also contributed towards our eco goals by taking steps such as planting pollinators to increase biodiversity in our playground and organising events such as a “Bring and Buy Sale” to encourage the recycling and re-use of unwanted items. These activities have helped to raise awareness of environmental responsibility across the whole school community.
